Wearing a protective face mask at Lithuanian Airports is mandatory for all passengers older than 6 years of age. 

All passengers must fill-in the online form* before travelling to Lithuania here.

*This is a mandatory safety measure set by the Republic of Lithuania.

Information about the resumption of passenger flights changes rapidly, so please regularly check the information being provided by your air carrier and the airport.

Passengers travelling through Lithuanian Airports must adhere to the following rules:

  • Only the passengers with a valid ticket (or seeking to purchase a ticket) are allowed into the departures terminal;
  • Only the passengers wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) are allowed into the terminal and this is valid at all times while in the terminal building;

The following health safety measures are present at Lithuanian Airports:

  • Hand disinfectants are available for passengers throughout the terminal building. Passengers are strongly advised to regularly wash or disinfect hands;
  • Terminal premises, horizontal and vertical surfaces are regularly cleaned using disinfectants preventively each day;
  • Preventive notifications are voiced over the audio system and video messages are shown on the screens at the terminal;
  • A limited number of registration tables are in use at the same time, tables for different flights are placed at maximum distance from each other;
  • Queue barriers are placed in front of the tables, supplemented with disinfectant and marking every 1-2 meters, also information on keeping distance is provided;
  • Organic glass shields are installed on the registration, security check, and boarding tables;
  • All staff wear PPE which is mandatory;
  • Possibility to purchase PPE is present in the terminal building;
  • Every second chair on the benches is marked as not to be used;
  • Special bins are placed at the arrivals terminal for throwing away (when changing) used PPE.

How much in advance do I have to arrive at the airport?

At least 2 hours before the flight.

I want to change my ticket on the day of the flight. Is it possible?

With less than 24 hours left, tickets can be changed at the airport ticket office. Ticket offices open 2 hours before the scheduled flight and close immediately after closing the gate.

Can I leave the Republic of Lithuania before the end of mandatory self-isolation?

Yes, a passenger with departure tickets from Lithuania before the end of the mandatory 10-day self-isolation can leave the Republic of Lithuania. Exception for passenger who have arrived from UK or South Africa Republic, they must submit an application to the NVSC (or by calling +370 (5) 264 9676) and for permission to leave the place of self-isolation. If the permission is not granted, the State Border Guard officers shall impose a fine of EUR 250 for departure.

Where to apply for compensation for flight changes?

Directly to the airline, tour operator or your ticket vendor.

Can I go to another municipality if I live in a different one than the airport? Yes, flight tickets are enough evidence to travel between municipalities.
Can someone else bring me to the airport? Yes, if you are one family, or in the car there are only two members of two different families.
How can I get to and from the airport? All transport means are available – public transport, car rental, taxi.


Entry requirements

Citizens and persons legally resident in the following countries may enter Lithuania: the Republic of Lithuania and the countries of the European Economic Area (the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein), the Swiss Confederation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Principality of Andorra, the Principality of Monaco, the Republic of San Marino and the Holy See (Vatican City State).

Foreigners from third countries may arrive only in accordance with the exceptions provided for in the resolution of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania (see sub-clause 3.3 of the resolution).

What are the requirements for arrival?

All passengers must fill in the NVSC form before boarding the plane and present the received QR code to the boarding staff of the airport of departure.

Passengers arriving to Lithuania from the affected countries must have a negative result of the COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) performed no earlier than 72 hours prior to the arrival in Lithuania. More information can be found here and here

Must I fill any form before arriving?

All passengers must fill in the NVSC form before boarding the plane and present the received QR code to the boarding staff of the airport of departure. 

What if I do not have a QR code when I arrive at the airport?

If you have a phone with an internet connection, fill out the form and you will receive the QR code required during boarding. Alternatively, ask the staff at the airport you are departing from to provide the means to complete the questionnaire.

How much time in advance do I have to complete the NVSC form?

We recommend filling in the form after check-in, as the information obtained during check-in is required - seating, etc.

Do I need to fill out the form for transit travel?

No, it is not necessary to fill in the NVSC form when traveling through Lithuania in transit (via connecting flights). 

Is the form available in other languages?

Yes, the form is available in Lithuanian, English and Russian.

Is there a border check upon arrival in Lithuania?

Yes, but border checks are only carried out for passengers arriving from non-Schengen countries.

Do children arriving in the country also need to fill in the NVSC form for arriving passengers?

Yes, the form for the children is filled in by the parents. Children also receive QR codes.


Is it possible to transit through the Republic of Lithuania?

Yes. Transit is possible without leaving the airport area. Transit of persons through the Republic of Lithuania is also possible, when only the necessary stops are ensured (for refuelling, ensuring hygiene needs, etc.). Self-isolation and COVID-19 test are not required, but the form must be filled (filling the form does not apply for passengers taking connecting flights).


Is it possible to buy flight tickets at the airport?

Ticket offices start working 2 hours before the flight and close immediately after take-off. When you enter, tell the staff that you are going to the ticket office.

What shops and restaurants are open at the airport?

Some shops and cafes are open at the airport.

Is personal protective equipment available at the airport?

Yes, there are functioning self-service kiosks.

What services are provided at the airport?

Most pre-pandemic services are provided at the airport: car rental, lost & found, ticket offices, banks and more.
