Vilnius Airport opens up a new summer holiday destination \u2013 the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica. The airline\u00a0Wizz Air<\/a>\u00a0started direct flights on June 7. Flights from Lithuania to Montenegro are operated twice per week.<\/strong><\/p>\n


\u201cPodgorica is another European capital that passengers can now directly reach from Vilnius. This destination opens up even wider possibilities for summer holidays for travellers in our region \u2013 from the mountains and lakes of Montenegro to sunny sea beaches. Montenegro is often referred to as the pearl of the Balkans. The capital of this country, Podgorica, is cozy with a population of about 180 thousand. It intertwines historical heritage, modern architecture and a calm southern rhythm of life. Travellers are attracted by the opportunity to walk through the old Stara Varo\u0161 quarter, visit the impressive Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ, admire the Millennium Bridge, or take a breather in the green spaces of the city by the Moracha River.
